The global oil and gas industry experienced a 26% rise in new job postings related to social responsibility in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s whitepaper on Social Responsibility in Oil & Gas – Hiring Activity in Q3 2022. This compares to a 158% increase versus Q3 2021.
Notably, Driver/Sales Workers and Truck Drivers jobs accounted for an 8% share of the global oil and gas industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 574% over the prior quarter.
Driver/Sales Workers and Truck Drivers, with a share of 8%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the oil and gas industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 574% quarter-on-quarter. Marketing and Sales Managers came in second with a share of 2% in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 19% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent social responsibility roles include Occupational Health and Safety Specialists and Technicians with a 2% share in Q3 2022, Industrial Engineers, Including Health and Safety with a 2% share of new job postings.
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were UGI, Master Builders Solutions Deutschland, LyondellBasell Industries and BASF. Together they accounted for a combined share of 75% of all social responsibility-related active jobs in the oil and gas industry.
UGI posted 1,364 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q3 2022, Master Builders Solutions Deutschland 993 jobs, LyondellBasell Industries 969 jobs, and BASF 807 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the oil and gas industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 62% followed by Germany (6%) and the UK (6%). The share represented by the US was one percentage point higher than the 61% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
